This Sunday I had some friends over for cookie exchange. Everybody made 4 dozen cookies and we get together to exchange them. I also asked the guests to bring a small secret santa gift AND a snack-I know, I am a needy hostess.
The get-together was a success. Everybody spared 2 hours to come to my house out of their own busy schedule, it literally finished just under 2 hours, so I won’t call it a “party”. It was a “get-together”. Albeit short, it was nice to see everybody, catch up and relax a little bit over a glass of wine or a cup of tea.
When I have a party, I always order a cheese platter from Charelli’s. They always arrange various cheeses on a marble tray with beautiful flowers and/or berries and this time was no exception. When I order these platters they ask me if I have any preference, but I usually say it doesn’t matter, as they always put together a great mix.
There was one cheese I really liked; it was labeled “Grey Owl”. It was a soft and mild cheese and the rind was gray….I inhaled the whole thing. SO good. I will ask about this next time I visit Charelli’s.
